MATV Fundraiser for Cyber Café at
GIGGLES Comedy Club

Enjoy a night of laughter, unlimited pizza, and drinks (cash bar), with friends, coworkers, & community members ... to help benefit the Cyber Cafe @ Malden Square.

Last year, this proved to be a very fun and successful fundraiser. And this year's diverse lineup of comedians will guarantee another laugh-filled 75-minute show.

You received this invitation because you may be a member, former volunteer, friend of a Cafe member; or because of a current or past association with the Cyber Cafe or one of its partners (MATV, The Career Place, Rep. Fallon’s District Office, Tri-CAP, or Murray Learning Associates).

Please join us to celebrate 7 years of serving the Tri-City community and help us have many more. Tickets are $20 and available at the Cyber Cafe, MATV, and from CTAC members.

Giggles is on the 430 Malden/Saugus bus line.  Check mbta.com for more info.

Grand Re-Opening Welcome (GROW)
Attracts Area Business Leaders

The combined 7th Anniversary and Grand Re-Opening Welcome attracted some new faces to the Cyber Cafe @ Malden Square. Visitors from area businesses dropped in to see us in our new space and asked if there are ways we can collaborate. A number of former members also dropped by, glad that we’re re-open and eager to resume their computer activities.

Grand Re-Opening Welcome
June 26 and 27 throughout the day

As the Cyber Cafe has grown over the past 7 years, so has our membership and our community. Members have gained computer skills, become volunteers, gotten jobs, one VISTA volunteer has become a staff member, other volunteers have moved on to permanent positions...

View our new, spacious site at 110 Pleasant Street, see what we can offer the community through programs and services, and celebrate our 7th Anniversary with us. We have special activities designed for the 2 days and hope to see you there.

March 2008

Cyber Café re-opens, Monday, March 3rd!

This first week, we’ll be open from 12-4 and will resume our regular 9:30 - 5:30 schedule some time during the 2nd or 3rd week of March.

We look forward to seeing all our regulars as well as new members. More volunteers are needed; if interested, please call the Cafe during our open hours, 781-397-2970.

Click here for photos of our new space. More photos will follow later.

Tax Preparation has begun

Free tax preparation for low-income residents began on February 9th and will continue through April 14, 2008. This is the first program to use the new Cyber Café location and people are impressed with the expanded space and layout. Click the Tax Preparation link in the left column for more information.

Free Tax Preparation Program!

Cyber Café Sets Up EITC/VITA Site

The Cyber Café @ Malden Square is again serving as a VITA site for tax preparation assistance for low-income residents in the tri-cities of Malden, Medford, Everett, and surrounding communities.

We prepare and electronically file federal and Massachusetts income tax returns, so you get your refund quickly and easily.

Quality and Confidentiality are our top concern.

VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Preparation and all volunteers are trained through an IRS provided training program and must pass a certification exam before doing any tax preparation.

EITC stands for the Earned Income Tax Credit (also called the EIC). This tax credit is available for low-income residents who meet certain income guidelines. You do not need to have children to qualify for the EITC. There are also a number of tax credits for low-income residents with children.

See our sister site, Malden Tax Partnership, for more information..
